I nearly forgot about writing this, but I managed to get it done in time haha! Either way, we had a great month, so let’s get into it.
Things we have done:
We have made progress with models, particles, and the engine.
First off, the Fubuki is nearing her finished state in terms of the model, and she’ll be textured soon after that. We also have our high poly of the Baltimore all but completed!
We managed to finish up a first draft of cannon firing particles to use with milestone 1. What you see now are good, but they are still lacking a few features that’ll be present as we move forward, the most notable being emissive lighting that reflects off of the water and hull of the ship.
Finally, the engine now supports cannon firing, and particles being emitted from a fired cannon. We will get an actual projectile once ammo is added as an entity. Naturally, all of these things are moddable and configurable!
Things we are going to work on:
This next month is going to introduce hit detection into the engine, and with that we are going to set up a hit location system for entities.
Along with hit detection we are going to continue working on the Fubuki and Baltimore. Only the Fubuki is planned to be completed by milestone 1, but it’ll be nice to have an extra ship to show off as well if it’s done in time.
Issues we are having:
Nothing major going on here in terms of issues!
